Ko wai au

Ko Tainui te waka
Ko Ngāti Maniapoto te iwi
Ko Ngāti Apakura te hapū
ko Brendon Moses taku ingoā.
E noho ana au i Aoteroa.

I am Māori

I am a descendant of Ngati Maniapoto, Tainui, Ngati Rangitihi, Tuhourangi, Taninui, Ngāti Maniapoto and Ngāti Apakura iwi. I am intensely interested in learning about our culture, language and history. I devote a good portion of my time to this and integrate it into my family life.

I am a recent graduate of the Level 5 Diploma in Rongoā Māori and Level 5 Diploma in Te Reo Māori through Te Wānanga o Aotearoa.

I work at Te Wānanga o Aotearoa which is the largest indigenous tertiary provider in Aotearoa.

A mainlander

Whilst my whakapapa binds me to the Waikato and Bay of Plenty, I was raised at the bottom of Te Waipounamu (the South Island of Aotearoa). I am intrinsically connected to my hometown of Motu-Pōhue (Bluff) where I was schooled and learned a way of life that makes me grateful for everyday life.

Bluff is beautiful, bountiful, yet it is sometimes harsh and unforgiving. It is not a place for the weak, so it makes the average person stronger in order to survive.

I encourage all New Zealanders to visit the South Island before visiting overseas. It’ll give you a far greater appreciation of our country.
